Tis' the Season for Rhubarb

It's rhubarb season here in Minnesota and I love making this cake and I think my family enjoys eating it too!  I decided to make a video showing just how easy and fast you can whip this up.

Here is a link to my YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDSqybwsnW4

Here's the recipe:

Rhubarb Surprise Cake

9x13" pan, greased and floured
2 packages of Jiffy Yellow Cake mix, prepared according to the package
4 cups chopped rhubarb
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream

Make the Jiffy cake mix according to the package.  Place batter in the prepared 9 x 13 " pan.  Top with rhubarb, then sugar and lastly the heavy whipping cream. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour.  Serve warm with whipped cream.  Refrigerate the leftovers.  I personally love this cake ice cold....yummy! Please let me know how you like this cake in the comments below.

Now I'm going to head off to my craft room and work on my nephew's graduation banner.

Stampin' Up! Butterflies Thinlits Birthday Card

I saw a video by Kay Kalthoff making this beautiful card and decided that I had to CASE it.  Like Kay, I absolutely love this Sahara Sand Lace Trim and am so sad to see that it will be retiring.  If you're like me, you'll be ordering a little stash for future use.  Here is my version of Kay's card:

April 2016 Customer Appreciation Gifts

If you're one of my customers, you know that I like to send out a little something as my way of saying thank you.  This month I decided to blog about the packaging, because I thought it turned out really cute.  Of course, I'm not going to show you what's inside because that would spoil it for my customers.  I promise that I will post a video showing how to make this cute little box and what fits in it perfectly.

Here is what my April customers will be receiving in the mail this week:

I started with a sheet of Cucumber Crush card stock that measured 5-1/2" x 6-1/2".  Score this 1" from each side on the 6-1/2" side.  On the other side score at 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 4" and 5".  Fold on all the score lines, cut away the two small rectangles, apply strong adhesive along the 1/2" strip and assemble.  If you plan on applying some DSP to your 3D project, it's best if you adhere that to the box while flat.  Cut two pieces of DSP at 2-1/4" x 4-1/4".

For the top of the box I didn't want to permanently close it, so I just pinched in the top and using the hand held 1/16" punch I punched out two holes, by a very scientific method....I eyeballed it.  I'm sure they are probably uneven, but I don't think anyone will notice.

Stampin' Up! Update

I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of my pre-order from the upcoming 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  I'll do a "haul" video either on Periscope or on YouTube, so be on the lookout.  The easiest way to catch me is by either following me on Periscope or subscribing to my YouTube channel.

This year's catalog is amazing and you are going to absolutely flip for all the new products that Stampin' Up! has come up with!  Remember, if you've purchased thru my online store in the last year, you'll automatically receive the catalog in your mailbox sometime early to mid May.  If you haven't ordered from me and would like a catalog, simply place a $50 order (before shipping and taxes) on my online store before May 31, 2016 and I'll send you a catalog in early June.

In the meantime, don't forget about the retired list and clearance rack.  You might just find your favorite Stampin' Up! product there and on sale!
