Stampin' Up! Elegant Christmas Banner

I love making banners and Stampin' Up! has made making banners so easy!  Here is an example of a simple, yet elegant banner I made for a friend's new salon.

I used Stampin' Up!'s new adhesive sheets to the back of the Smoky Slate cardstock before cutting out the Swirly Snowflakes die.  Wow!  Does that make adhering to the banner easy and quick!!!

Notice the tips of the banner?  I cut portions of the Foil Snowflakes to finish off the banner.

Stampin' Up! Summer Banner

I love making banners and I needed one for summer, so I decided to use up some retired Stampin' Up! DSP to whip one up.   The retired DSP is called Gingham Garden and it's full of bright and cheery colors, perfect for summertime.  What would a summer be without butterflies?  The butterflies were made using the Bold Butterfly Framelits and the coordinating Butterflies Thinlits, both still available thru Stampin' Up!.  To make the cutting of these intricate dies easier, Stampin' Up! will be introducing the Precision Base Plate by Sizzix beginning September 1, 2015 thru January 4, 2016.

Welcome March

With the beginning of March comes thoughts and hopes of Spring.  I've taken the Valentine's decorations down and have the St. Patrick's Day ones up.  I'm not Irish, but I'm hoping that the "luck" of the Irish will come and bring us warmer weather.  Hey....it's worth a try isn't it???

I love making banners and this is one of my favorites....

For this year's St. Patrick's Day cards, I decided to do something simple.  Believe it or not, this was all done with scraps of paper!  The stamp set is from MSE.  

This picture was taken atop the Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland.  My sister Diane took me on a dream vacation in the fall of 2012 to celebrate the end of my journey with cancer.  What a vacation it was!!!  Thank you Diane...you're the best!  I love you!!!

I hope that the "luck" of the Irish finds you too....

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit

What is Paper Pumpkin you ask?  Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up!'s monthly subscription to a paper crafting kit.  It's creativity in a little red box that is delivered every month to your door.  Everything is included in your kit, so you can have all the fun!  Click HERE to read more about it.

The Paper Pumpkin kit for June had these cute little patriotic pinwheels to make, 24 to be exact!  It was fun and quick to decorate the house this 4th of July with a little help from Paper Pumpkin....

Here I created a pinwheel bouquet.  Isn't just too cute???

Next, I decided to make a little mini banner.  I made boxes out of the pre-cut pinwheels and weighed the box down with marbles.  The banners were made using the Hearts a Flutter framelits and then I used the new mini heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to give it that "star" appeal.

Of course, my love of banners is what really lead me to Stampin' Up!, so I couldn't resist sharing one of my pre-SU banners with you.  Still looks good after a couple of years don't you think?

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #062

Don't you love the way it looks outside after a heavy snowfall?   The sun glistening on the snow making it appear as if it were millions, upon millions of diamonds.  When I saw this week's DOstamperStars Thursday challenge, that is exactly what came to mind.   I decided to make a banner depicting a fresh snowfall.  I know, I know… a lot of you don't like snow, but you might change your mind after seeing my banner.  Let me know what you think and leave me a comment.
