Kraft Grid Journal Teacher Gift

Do you need a quick and easy teacher's gift?  Stampin' Up!'s Kraft Grid Journals are just the ticket. The journals come 2 to a pack and they're only $4.95!  

Here I used the Tap Tap Tap stamp set and stamped it with VersaMark on Whisper White card stock.  I then embossed with Black embossing powder and colored in with Smokey Slate and Black markers.  

Then comes the fun part...fussy cutting.   No need for fretting...this fussy cutting is a breeze.  

Every teacher deserves a shiny red apple, right?  To make this little apple I used the Flower Shop stamp with the alphabet on the petals.  I did my "double dipping" method of embossing with VersaMark and Real Red ink.  Once it was dried I punched out the flower,  used the 1/2" Round punch and punched out the center and then fussy cut one of the petals to be the apple.   The leaf was taken from the Bird Builder punch and the stem was just a scrap.  

Here is a close up of the typewriter and apple.  In person, the typewriter, apple and "hi" have a shine from the embossing which looks marvelous! 

I made this sweet envelope for the journal and dressed it up with the burlap ribbon belly band and punch art apple.  The apple was made using the third from the smallest of the Hearts Collection Framelits.   With the Envelope Punch Board (EPB) upside down,  align the point of the heart evenly in the punch part of the EPB and punch.   Using your paper snips, round the sides to make a more "apple" like shape.  Run your apple thru the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF folder.  To finish off the apple, use the Bird builder Punch to make the apple stem and leaf.  Staple the burlap ribbon around the envelope and glue the punch art apple over the staples.

Punch Art Apple Card

How do you tell your teacher they're appreciated?  You give them a punch art apple card of course!   It's a fun and quick card to make and sure to bring you or your favorite student to the head of the class.

After cutting the black card stock, run it thru the Big Shot using the Alphabet Press TIEF folder.  I then lightly sponged the entire card with Whisper White CRAFT Ink.  Before it was dry, I used a paper towel and wiped off any excess ink giving it that chalkboard look.

The worm is made using the Bird Builder Punch.  Punch the bird out of Daffodil Delight card stock, using your paper snips cut 1/4" strip following the bird's body from it's beak to it's wings.  Round the ends and with a black pen give your little worm some personality.

Pencil Card

The kids are back in school and the pencils are getting sharpened, so why not make a pencil card to celebrate a job well done.  This is a quick card to make and with Stampin' Up! colors and tools, it's really cute.  Don't forget to make a coordinating envelope with our DSP and Envelope Punch Board to complete the card.

The pencil tip was cut diagonally at the 2” mark. I used the Envelope Punch Board (EPB) and punched the Hello Honey card stock at the 1”, 2” and 3” marks. Then, using the Simply Scoring Tool, score starting at the “valley” of the EPB punches and continuing to the left side of the card stock. Adhere the Strawberry Slush card stock to the Hello Honey card stock. Add the sentiment, ribbon and attach to the card base. The last step is to add the pencil lead. I glued the oval horizontally on the tip and trimmed accordingly.

Since the card is 4” x 8”, I made a matching envelope. Using the EPB, look up the size and cut the DSP as stated. Follow the directions as stated on the board and you will have a beautiful, custom made envelope.
