Spiral Flower Originals Die

Stampin' Up!'s Spiral Flower Originals Die has arrived to my craft desk!  I've decided that since spring was taking it's sweet time in arriving outside, I would create spring inside.  What better way to bring spring inside than with flowers.

First I took the 2013 -2015 In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks, Crisp Cantaloupe and cut them down to 4" strips.  I then used the Spiral Flower Originals Die and my Big Shot and die cut three flowers per strip.  From each sheet of paper I was able to get nine flowers. Depending on how large of styrofoam ball you use and how tightly you roll your flowers will determine how many sheets of paper you will need.  This project took a total of 15 sheets of DSP.

Before attaching the flowers to the styrofoam ball, cut a dowel to the height you want.  Then sponge on Gumball Green ink and then Chocolate Chip ink on the dowel.  Cut a piece of square styrofoam to fit the container you are planning on using and then glue the painted dowel into both the styrofoam base and ball.

Then comes the fun part, making the topiary.  Attach the flowers to the styrofoam ball using a hot glue gun with the setting on low.  After the stryrofoam ball is completely covered, go back and fill in with small pieces of ribbon.

This was a fun and easy project to do.  I hope you try it.
