Stampin' Up! Fourth of July Easel Card

Remember...today, June 30, 2017 is the last day to get your FREE Host stamp set...read to the end for all the details.

The other day I decided to start wearing my Fourth of July clothes and was going thru my jewelry box for my Fourth of July jewelry (please don't tell me I'm the only one who has Fourth of July clothes and jewelry to match), when I pulled out a pair of earrings and thought, "These would make a GREAT card".

The earrings are at least 25 years old and I purchased them from Carrie, my Avon Lady.  Remember those days, every couple of weeks your Avon Lady would ring your doorbell and come in to visit and hopefully leave with an order.  Carrie, if you're reading this....thank you for all those years of being my Avon Lady!

Onto the card.....

For my card, I've decided to make it into an easel card.  This was very easy to do.  Here are the steps:

  1. Place the full card base, folded in half on the cutting plate with the die of choice placed slightly above the fold.  Run this thru the Big Shot
  2. Once cut, open the card base up, find the center of the front and score it horizontally.  Fold and burnish.
  3. Cut the same shape out of a single layer of card stock.
  4. Embellish the single, cut layer.
  5. Adhere the embellished, single layer die shape to the bottom portion of your card base.
  6. Place a stopper in the inside of the card, positioning it where/how you want your front image to sit.
It's that simple!

Here are a couple videos I made explaining how I made this super cute card:

Stampin' Up! Work of Art Fourth of July Card

Now that graduations are over, Fourth of July is the next time of celebration.  I decided to get a head start on my cards, using some of the new products from the 2015-16 Stampin' Up! annual catalog, some carryovers and one retired item.

To create the confetti stars banner, I first cut a piece of Pacific Point card stock 2-1/4" wide, punched one side with the Confetti Stars border punch, flipped the card stock over, punched again using the Confetti Stars border punch and then trimmed 1/8" from each edge, making the width be 2".  At that point I used the new Banner Triple punch to create a banner.

The items I used for this card are as follows:

If you would like to purchase any of the items I used, simply right click on the item and you'll be whisked away to my online store.  There you can purchase any of Stampin' Up!'s products.  If you have a questions, simply send me a comment.  I'll be  happy to answer any of your stampin' questions.
