Patriotic Stampin' Up! Falling Flowers

Falling Flowers is a new stamp set and can be found on page 127 of the new 2016-2016 Annual Catalog.  I decided to use this to make some of my Fourth of July cards.  This isn't my idea, but that of Kathleen Wingerson.   I saw her card on Pinterest......gotta love Pinterest!

Kathleen used Everything Eleanor, which has been retired.  I was looking thru the catalog and decided that Falling Flowers would be a good substitute.  It worked out perfectly!  What do you think?

TIP:  Photopolymer stamps can be shaped to the punch.  Just place the stamp over the image, bend and adhere to your clear blocks!

If you would like to make this card, simply click on the product below and you'll be magically whisked away to my online store where you can purchase the items I used, plus any of the other great Stampin' Up! products.

Valentine Dove Chocolate Treat Holder

Who doesn't love to receive beautifully wrapped chocolates on Valentine's Day?  These are just about too pretty to eat, but I'm sure eventually they will be.

The box was pretty simple.  Simply cut a 3-1/4" x 6-5/8" piece of Real Red card stock and score at 1/2" and 1" on all sides.  Cut and assemble as I did with my cute little snowman treat (see December 2015).  For the vellum "belly band", cut a piece of vellum to 4" x 3-1/2".  Using the scattered hearts in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set, stamp randomly with VersaMark.  Sprinkle with silver embossing powder, heat and watch the magic.  After the vellum has been embossed and cooled, score on the back side along the 4" side at 7/8" and 1-3/8", flip and repeat on the other side.   Finger press and adhere using Fast Fuse.    I then cut the tags, embossed and assembled.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge 158 Sheltering Tree Masked with Lighthearted Leaf

It's Thursday and time for another DOstamperSTARS challenge.  This week's challenge is an inspiration piece and I'm definitely taken a few liberties with this one.

First, the inspiration piece has acorns on it.  Okay, acorns come from oak trees and my card is a maple....it's a tree right?  Second, the inspiration piece has gold cording on it and so does my card.  I think that's close enough, don't you?

Alright, let me be honest with you.  I needed to make a few more Thanksgiving cards and get them in the mail, so instead of sticking to the inspiration piece, I focused on the task at hand. But the challenge did push me into getting my cards done and out the door, so we are both winners....right???

Here is the inspiration piece:

Here is my card for this week's challenge:

I have to give credit, where credit is due.  This is not my idea, but I saw it on Youtube from Tami White.  Here is a link to her video for you to find out how easy it is to make this beautiful card:
